Summer TV Hits and Misses

Summer is officially over and Fall TV has started. I figured now would be a good time to take a look at my DVR and decide which shows were worth spending my time with this summer.

Hits:

These 4 shows are ones that I can’t wait for. They caught me every week. These are shows that are unlikely to sit on my DVR waiting to be watched.

Longmire:  The setting is beautiful and the characters have some great drama. Longmire lost his wife a year ago and has been out of it most of the time. His deputy has decided to run against him in the upcoming election. That deputy was also sleeping with Longmire’s daughter. Talk about a sticky situation. I like the episodes where we get to see how Longmire interacts with the Indians...

Krissie; Jenny’s here!!!

This is CPAP face. Those are the grooves carved into my face by the time I wake up. The good thing is that I now use my CPAP machine all night since I got the chin strap (basically an ACE bandage with velcro). I was hoping the chin strap would hold Wittle Wattle in so much that it would stay gone, but if I have to have permanent deep grooves in my cheeks maybe I’ll keep Wittle.
Today will be a riot of fun (after Crusie talks to Social Security and her hedge fund managers – I don’t think they’re really a hedge fund). We’ll go visit my BFF, have lunch at Connie’s in Hardwick (great sandwich shop — it’s that or the kale restaurant), maybe beard my evil SIL in the den of My Precious (the big house) so I can show Jenny and maybe si...

Witchcraft 201 Class Starts MONDAY

Good grief! I've been so distracted by the new books coming out (you might have heard about that...) I forgot to talk about this month's online witchcraft class over at the Witchcraft and Writing Class Loop. And it starts Monday the 24th. Oops.

This is going to be a really special class, given jointly by me and Heather Long (author/Pagan/Tech Goddess for the loop). There will be in depth discussion and a deeper look at the practice of modern witchcraft, so we are limiting the class to twenty people. There are some folks signed up already, so if you're interested, run...quick like a bunny to sign up (at the link above)! The class is going to be 5 days, instead of our usual 3, and it is aimed at those who are looking to practice The Craft, but will also be suitable for witchy auth...

A tribe of perverts and sexual deviants

Being the lone romance writer on a book tour of 28 Oregon authors is an odd experience. If anyone sees you smiling, they assume you’ve been doing something torrid.

They may have a point.
I’ve had a great time being part of the Crazy 8s Author Tour, and I’m stoked to head to Cannon Beach this Saturdayfor our next tour stop.
I couldn’t help noticing a common theme in the speeches given by my fellow authors at our first event last weekend. Many poked fun at themselves for using Facebook to procrastinate book deadlines. Some made reference to Twitter, and during the Q&A portion of the presentation we fielded several audience questions about writers’ groups.
Are we all a bunch of social media addicts with the attention span of a porn addict at a nude bea...
