Update: Over the weekend, after I’d written this post, we found Sam’s family. They live next door, which out here in the sticks is still a bit of a distance, and his name is Double D. Not sure where that name came from, but there was a little four-year-old girl who was very happy to have her kitty back. So, while we’re a little sad about losing Sam, it’s a good thing. Did I mention how I didn’t want a third cat?
